GP to host first-ever National High School Basketball Invitational live on ESPN

The Washington Post reported that Chicago based Paragon Marketing Group announced late Monday that the first ever national high school championship tournament will be held at Georgetown Prep’s Hanley Center for Athletic Excellence April 3 – April 5, 2009. The event which is a collaboration between ESPN RISE ® and Paragon will feature the top 8 boys teams and top 4 girls teams from across the country in a single elimination format tournament.

Each of the games will be aired live on the family of ESPN networks with the Boy’s final game being broadcast live on ESPN. Georgetown Prep’s Hanley Center is uniquely equipped to handle an event of this size with over 125,000 square feet of indoor space. The games will be played on the Hanley Center Arena Court, which can handle a capacity crowd of 2,000 spectators. Click here to read the Washington Post article.
